SE AVISTA UN CONCURSO!!

Queridos seguidores de Arts and Books:
Seguimos al pie del cañón!! Hace mucho que no escribimos nada en el blog, ni en nuestra página de facebook, pero no penséis que es porque ya no tenemos nada que presentaros o que hemos abandonado el duro sendero de la ilustración y el diseño. La verdad es que no nos queda ni un minuto de tiempo libre!
Desde que presentáramos nuestros proyectos fin de curso y aprobáramos (con muy buena nota por cierto) hemos estado de curso en curso ampliando y renovando técnicas y rematando detallitos para que todo estuviera listo cuando llegaran vuestras propuestas a nuestro estudio.
Entre esos "detallitos" entra la creación de una página web personalizada por nosotras, para que pudierais ver parte de nuestros trabajos (y matizo parte, porque son tantos los que hemos hecho a lo largo de estos dos últimos años, que no nos daría tiempo a colgarlos todos).
Tenemos pendientes unos cuantos proyectos en el portapapeles de nuestra mesa escritorio: álbumes ilustrados, exposiciones, catálogos, diseños… pero de todos los proyectos en marcha de este 2014, creo que el que más nos ha entusiasmado (y creedme si os decimos  que no nos gustan nada las competiciones) es el concurso IL*LUSTRACIÈNCIA. Il·lustraciència tiene por objetivo divulgar la importancia de la ilustración científica e impulsarla en todas sus modalidades, apoyando y premiando a los ilustradores científicos a través de la convocatoria del Premio Internacional de Ilustración Científica.
A nosotras nos encanta el ámbito de la ilustración científica y todo lo relacionado con las ciencias naturales, biosanitarias y de la tierra, desde la creación de los volcanes a la clasificación de microorganismos subacuáticos.
Están dispuesta a probar suerte en este concurso, y aunque no llevamos expectativas de resultar seleccionadas, si vamos a hacerlo con mucha ilusión.

Dear followers Arts and Books :We continue to soldier ! Il · lustraciència aims to publicize the importance of scientific illustration and promote it in all its forms , supporting and rewarding scientific illustrators through the convening of the International Award for Scientific Illustration .To us we love the field of scientific illustration and everything related to the natural sciences, life sciences and earth , from the creation of volcanoes the classification of underwater organisms.Are willing to try their luck in this contest , and although expectations we be selected , if we are to do so with great enthusiasm.

Buenas noches mis quieridos seguidores de Arts and Books!!

Sabéis esa sensación que te entra cuando regresas a casa despues de unas largas vacaciones?
Así nos sentimos nosotras el pasado Domingo cuando empezamos a empaquetar nuestro proyecto fin de curso.
Nerviosas?? por supuesto. El trabajo de seis meses reducido a un paquetito que iba a ser visto y revisto, juzgado, revisado, usado, olido y esperamos que recompensado con el mayor de los honores al que un alumno puede aspirar: una buena nota!!
Lo que pasará a partir del Lunes resulta aterradoramente desconocido.
La verdad es que tenemos unas ganas terribles de ponernos manos a la obra con nuevas ideas y nuevos proyectos, sacar punta a nuestros lápices, desempolvar los pinceles desgastados y dejarnos llevar por la inspiración y el ingenio.
Bueno, en realidad nos tomaremos una semanita de vacaciones por lo bien que lo hemos hecho, y volveremos con la batería cargada al cien por cien. Pero no penséis que vamos a estar tumbadas al sol dedicadas a la vida contemplativa, observando el crecimiento de las colonias de hormigas o escuchando el canto de la águilas, no señor! Nos vamos a coger ideas, visitar otros talleres y estudios, compartir creaciones y un montón de experiencias. Pasear por todos los museos cámara de fotos en mano (cómo bien manda el manual del buen turista :) ) tomar apuntes del natural y SOÑAR!!! sobre todo soñar. . .
En fin os pongo unas fotitos de nuestros proyectos finales.

Good night my Arts and Books followers!!

You know that feeling that you feel when you come home after a long vacation?
So we felt last Sunday when we started to pack our final year project.
Nerve? of course. The work of six months reduced to a small package that was to be seen and revised, tried, tested, used, smelled and hopefully rewarded with the highest honor that a student can aspire: a good note!
What will happen starting Monday is terrifyingly unknown.
The truth is that we have a terrible desire to get down to work with new ideas and new projects, sharpen our pencils, dust off the brushes worn and carried away by the inspiration and ingenuity.
Well, actually we will take another week of vacation so well that we have, and with full battery back to one hundred percent. But do not think we'll be lying in the sun dedicated to the contemplative life, watching the growth of ant colonies or listening to the songs of the eagles, no sir! We will take ideas, visit other workshops and studies, share creations and lots of experience. Walking through all the museums camera in hand (how good manual commands good tourist :)) take sketches from life and DREAM! especially dream. . .

Aquí estamos de nuevo!!

Buenos días mis queridos seguidores.
He regresado desde las profundidades de nuestro estudio para comunicaros las últimas noticias de Arts and Books.
Primer punto a destacar es que: las invitaciones de cumpleaños, así como la carta del menú y las tarjetas identificativas, resultaron un éxito total y triunfaron en el cupleaños ya que la fiesta coincidió con los carnavales y el estreno de la película DJANGO. Os podéis hacer una idea verdad?
Como digimos en la publicación anterior pondremos fotos del proceso, así como del resultado y alguna fotillo de la fiesta.
La segunda noticia en nuestro orden del día es que seguimos metidas en nuestros respectivos proyectos fin de carrera, que por cierto van viento en popa y a toda vela.
Como podréis suponer esto nos causa retrasos en las entradas del blog, por lo que pedimos disculpas a todos los que estáis pendientes y ansiosos de nuevas imágenes y noticias. Os pedimos de corazón que tengáis un poquito más de paciencia. Pronto muy pronto este blog estará que echa humo de la cantidad de cositas que tenemos que colgar, tanto como mis botas despues de una buena noche de Blues!!!

Good morning my dear followers.
I have returned from the depths of our study to communicate the latest news from Arts and Books.

The second news item on our agenda is that we tucked into our respective final projects, which by the way are doing very well and all sail.
As you can assume this will cause delays in blog entries, so we apologize to all who are eager pending and new images and news. We ask that you have at heart a little more patience. Soon, very soon this blog will be to check the amount of smoke we have to hang stuff, much as my boots after a good night's Blues!

Queridos amigos de Arts and Books, hoy nos ha llegado un mensage a nuestro correo electrónico con una propuesta la mar de interesante.
Aún me dura la emoción, y siento como mis dedos teclean apresuradamente, y es que estamos entusiasmadísimas con la propuesta de nuestro amigo y seguidor R. A. que con motivo de su 50 aniversario, nos ha encargado que realicemos las invitaciones, la carta y las tarjetas de mesa para su magnifica e inolvidable fiesta de cumpleaños. Pero lo bueno y emocionante no es eso, lo más genial de todo es que se trata de una fiesta temática ambientada en en la América de mediados del S. XIX, o en el Lejano Oeste, si así lo preferimos.
Sí amigos, este mes de Enero desenfundaré mi Winchester y limpiare el viejo Colt, me calzaré las botas y tomaré la primera diligencia sin destino concreto (aunque creo que no saldremos del estudio por lo menos en un par de semanas jajaja)
La inspiración recorre cada rincón del taller, la dulce voz de Roy Rogers inunda la estancia acompañada como no, del aroma del mejor café que hace mi querida hermana Belén. Y bueno puede que las vistas a través de la ventana no sean las un paisaje inhóspito y salvaje en el que el atardecer parece no terminar nunca, y puede que no haya bolas de espino rodando por el estudio como en una pelicula de Clint Eastwood. Pero lo que si puedo decir, es que estamos preparadas para emprender este proyecto, como lo estaban Lewis y Clark al iniciar su expedición. Casi puedo sentir como la fiebre del oro me posee, el olor del carbón quemandose en las calderas de la Union Pacific, el sonido de los cascos de caballos acercandose al fuerte y el piano ronco sonando en el viejo Saloon.
He de decir que casi no había terminado de leer el mail y ya me había puesto a hacer bocetos como una loca,  se me han ocurrido en cuestión de un par de minutos mil y una propuesta, porque amigos míos, no me gusta la idea, ME ENCANTA!!!

De momento no puedo avanzaros nada, pero en cuanto tengamos un resultado favorable pondremos un post con todo el proceso, para que podáis ver nuestro método de trabajo, y cómo no, el resultado final. Desde aquí le damos las gracias a R.A, que prefiere mantenerse en el anonimato (de momento) por depositar su confianza y espectativas en estas jóvenes artistas.

Espero que cabalguéis junto a nosotras hacia el amanecer de este maravilloso proyecto.

OH OH OH!! La Navidad ha Llegado!!

Queridos seguidores de Arts and Books, hoy ha llegado la Navidad a nuestro estudio. Y es que hoy por fín me he decidido a mandar las postales navideñas a todos mis amigos y seres queridos. El espíritu de estas fechas ha inundado la atmosfera del taller llenándolo de bastones de caramelo, olor a canela y un montón de velas de divertidas formas navideñas.

 

 

 

 

Estas navidades estamos muy muy contentas, tenemos trabajos a mogollón esperando en el taller, y unas ganas enormes de ponernos manos a la obra. Aunque la verdad, es que en más de una ocasión hemos echado en falta a esos duendecillos  traviesos que andan canturreando por el taller del señor Clauss, y que vienen muy bien cuando el trabajo es abundante.

Aun así sacamos un poquito de tiempo para hacer nuestras tarjetas postales, que servirán de felicitación para todos nuestros conocidos, estas Navidades. Están hechas con todo nuestro amor y espíritu festivo. Rematadas a mano una a una como bien manda Arts and Books. Atodos los que recibáis nuestras tarjetas, espero que os gusten, y a los que no hemos podido mandarlas, pronto pondremos la imagen para que podáis descargarla.

Dear followers Arts and Books, Christmas has now come to our studio. And today I finally decided to send the Christmas cards to all my friends and loved ones. Papeles, papeles, papeles!!!

Llega el otoño y con él una nueva remesa de papeles decorados para hacer cuadernitos.

Recien traidos de tierras norteñas, e impresos en Italia, son de muy buena calidad y con unos colores increibles, que decir que casi me vuelvo loca con la cantidad de papeles diferentes que había para elegir, si bien estaban un poquito mas caros de lo que acostumbro a comprar, el diseño merecía la pena.

Espero que pronto podáis disfrutar de diarios y cuadernos de campo hechos con todo nuestro amor y decorados con estos preciosos papeles.
